The Problem

Decklar is a global Decision AI company - Series B, 200+ people, operations across the US, Europe, META, and Asia. Nearly a decade of equity transactions: share issuances, transfers, buybacks, convertibles, warrants. All of it scattered across Eqvista and multiple spreadsheets.

Because their primary tool either couldn't handle certain scenarios or it took too much effort to get some of the transactions updated.

The result? A fragmented foundation:

  • No single source of truth across stakeholders.
  • Reporting required manual reconciliation across systems.
  • Key events like option expiries and cancellations were easy to miss.
  • Investor and employee dashboards told different stories.

As compliance requirements grew, the cracks became harder to ignore.

What Qapita did

Decklar didn't just need a new tool - they needed to rebuild the foundation. Equity data dating back to 2014 had to be reconstructed record by record. Qapita's team worked alongside Decklar's legal team to revisit original agreements, recover missing details like issuance dates and pricing, and handle complex edge cases like early exercises and non-standard transactions. This ensured every entry was accurately represented before consolidation.

“Since our historical stock options and cap table data resided across two different legacy tools, the transition required meticulous effort.”

The Outcome

Decklar now manages 200+ cap table stakeholders and 400+ total stakeholders on one unified platform bringing together cap tables, stock options, documents, and reporting - with clean, auditable, and validated data.

Because their primary tool either couldn't handle certain scenarios or it took too much effort to get some of the transactions updated.

  • Reporting outputs shared directly with stakeholders, no reconciliation needed.
  • Full audit trail supporting compliance and reporting.
  • Automated calculations replacing manual workflows.
  • Scenario planning for fundraising and valuation decisions.
“The dashboards are intuitive and bring clarity.”

Since the transition, Decklar has expanded Qapita's use to 409A valuations, financial reporting, and transactional workflows - with a foundation built to scale.
